Frequently Asked Questions

  • The 2025 Catholic Camp Summit is January 28-31. If you are unable to make it this year, the Summit usually occurs during the last week of January. We’ll share dates for 2026 when we have them!

  • We’re happy to provide this event at no cost to our Catholic Camp community. Registration is more of an RSVP — let us know to expect you!

If you’d like to help us cover the cost of meals ($100) for your trip, please bring a check with you. If you’re interested in contributing another amount, that’s great too!

  • Anyone involved in camp ministry! Some camps send just their camp director, others include their entire camp staff and missionaries.

We will have a separate but parallel track for missionaries or seasonal staff that serve alongside camp staff!

  • We recommend you fly into DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth International) or DAL (Dallas Love Field). The Pines is about a 2-hour drive east of Dallas and just north of Tyler, Texas. We can try to help coordinate rides from the airport if you’ll let us know when you’re coming — please contact Greg at greg@thepines.org.

For driving directions, plug The Pines Catholic Camp into your maps app. If you prefer an address, we are located at:
    300 White Pine Road
    Big Sandy, TX 75755

  • We have climate-controlled bunkhouses across camp for lodging for this event. All bunkbeds are standard twin size.

If you would like to discuss other accommodations, options to stay with a group, or details about lodging, please contact Greg at greg@thepines.org.

  • All beds on camp are standard twin size. Please bring sheets/blanket or a sleeping bag. Don’t forget a pillow! You’ll also want to bring a towel, shower shoes, a water bottle, and clothes that can layer. Our temperatures can fluctuate, but we usually have highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s in January.
